Update Time!!

Well being Friday and "feet up" day I finally have time to post a quick blog on what has been happening.

Wednesday afternoon we arrived in Melbourne and were whisked away from the airport by Jadey's lovely brother and his wife, straight to a grocery store to get stocked up on provisions for the next couple of days. We got to the apartment only to find instead of my 2bdrm apartment being booked for Wednesday through to Sunday, it had only been booked for Sunday. Crisis was averted as Jadey's hubby isn't arriving until tonight so I have bunked in with her for the past couple of nights. Luckily the apartment was free for tonight so Coach, Michelle Nazaroff and I will have somewhere to sleep... LOL!!

Wednesday night Jeh hit town with her man, and his suitcase was lost!! So they had to go off late on Wednesday night to find food.

Thursday it was up early to hit the gym for our last training session before comp. Whilst working out a trainer came up and said "Are you girls bodysculptors?" When I got over my glee at still being referred to as a "girl" even though I'm 40, we replied in the affirmative. He said you could tell. This is possibly a good thing as we are 2 days from competing and it would probably be a bit of a concern if we didn't look fit!!

Home for meals and a coffee, then off for a nice big 2 hour walk around Melbourne, where one of the stops of course was Koko Black, which has become somewhere I MUST visit every time I come to Melbourne. I walked out with a big bag of stuff, but most of it is for other people... I swear it is!! My purchases were a few of their hand made chocolates (including some of the dark chocolate dipped glace orange segments that Lia got me hooked on after the 2005 All Female Classic, when she bought me some as a pressie), and a small bag of dark chocolate coated macadamia nuts.

Then it was off to get a spray tan. Even though we don't normally get a tan as we use Dream Tan, I just felt like getting a bit of a base tan. Through all of this we were sucking down water like it was going out of fashion as it was water-loading day.

Slept like a baby last night and woke up this morning just hanging to get into the shower and get some of that tan off. I was able to relax while Jadey went off and got another layer of tan. So I am still relaxing and taking it easy today, which is a welcome relief from the craziness of the past few days.

Anyway guys, off to chill a bit more... have a great day and I will see you on the flip side!! VERY EXCITED!! It's going to be a fun day, it always is!! Of course there will be a bit of sadness in there for me as I won't have my number one supporter and fan with me this year. It just spins me out that this time last year I still had a month left with Mum, although I thought I had longer.

Dear Mummy,
I hope you and Dad have got box seats for this comp, and are looking down smiling on me. I miss you like crazy even though I always feel yours and Dad's presence. I also hope I get to do my routine, as this one's for you and I hope it reflects how strong and graceful you were xxx
